Description
Tim Southall is a british printmaker and painter. His vivid etchings possess a certain delicateness. He represents figurative subjects, in this case, wolves, in natural landscapes. Each created scene seems to be telling a story, captivating the observer. The technique used, as well as the overall appearance of the works, are also fascinating. The etchings are made up of different textures, with different motifs. Small lines make up the patterns of the piece, such as, the lines of the wolves’ fur, or of the grass. The general display of the components of the pieces creates an overall union. This soothing combination is further reinforced by the monochromatic colour scheme of the pieces.
