About the artist:

Jussi Jääskeläinen mixes themes as he mixes techniques. The Berlin-based Finnish artist and illustrator creates fresh, contrasty compositions, inspired by nature, animalia, and the Berlin music scene. He implements his own aesthetic in his works based on his experience working with graphic design and illustration. In his drawings the viewer can observe the interaction between the human and the technological world, as well as very primitive and raw elements of nature. He often blends animalistic figures with objects in a psychedelic composition through his use of colour and expression. These watercolours give the notion that the spectator is contemplating a smoky dream, and the intense lines give volume to these fantastic creatures and forms. His choice of technique, colours and expressions contrast the almost hidden deep, critical messages he wishes to pass through with his work. He uses his art as a way of lightening his message that reveals the darker side of living in a modern society.
