Description
About the art:
Xecon Uddin explores memories, dreams and identity in his works. In his series of etchings “Souvenirs d’Enfance”, meaning “childhood memories,” Uddin explores childhood dreams. The series reminds us of our own personal childhood, our imaginative dreams and inventions. In each piece, a protagonist occupies the centre of the work. He is surrounded by a natural landscape. Nevertheless, this landscape is unusual, ranging from icebergs with grass, to flying wind turbines. The playful colours used, their union, and the light lines used, create a certain softness. This use of colour, combined with the surrealist scenes, speak to our inner child, leading us to recall personal memories.
