Description
Shokoufeh Fallah’s extremely detailed etchings depict forests and trees in a very personalised way. The monochromatic trees are contrasted with a white background. They are bare, without leaves, alone in space. Exposed on naked land, as if frozen in time, the trees bring forth feelings of melancholia and isolation. Nothing disturbs their peace and quiet. The title of these works, “Garden of Silence”, represents these feelings. In some of the etchings, an white layer is added using the chine collé technique, giving a certain softness to the pieces.
