Description
James Michèle is a French artist now almost exclusively focused on engraving. Her prints provide an interesting interpretation of the way humans and nature relate, presenting them in close ups of layers of soil using different colours. The combination of written characters, humans, animals and objects, provides an opportunity to examine the limits between abstraction and figuration, and also the relationship between form and symbol.
