About the artist
Piesold’s portrait series “play” presents figurines preparing, through costume and face-painting, for the most diverse roles, allowing them to assume a new identity as beauty or beast. The subjects are placed amidst the spotlight, portrayed in the centre of the pieces, using strong vivid colours. They are looking, proudly, straight at us, staring at them.
